Global Citizenship Award 2007-2008

The University of St. Thomas Global Citizenship Award honors a member(s) of the St. Thomas community whose personal or professional work brings the concept of global citizenship to their department, classroom, residence hall or student club.

The award is open to all faculty, staff and students of the University of St. Thomas.

Nomination and Award Process
Nominations are accepted from any St. Thomas faculty, staff, or student, (including self-nomination). The International Matrix, comprised of staff from the International Education Center, Office of International Student Services and ELS Language Centers, will select a candidate or candidates from the nominations submitted.

The presentation of the award(s) will be made at the St. Thomas International Dinner that takes place on April 26, 2008. Recipients will be notified of award by letter and at the dinner they will receive:

• Desktop award globe
• Certificate
• Two tickets to attend the St. Thomas International Dinner

Nomination Criteria
Deadline for nominations is March 31. Completed Nomination Form is required and must be submitted by the deadline.

A nomination form can be downloaded at: http://www.stthomas.edu/studyabroad/ in the ‘General Info’ drop-down menu. To request a nomination form contact International Education by email at international@stthomas.edu or call (651) 962-6450.

Candidates must be a St. Thomas faculty (adjuncts included), staff or student.
Candidates must demonstrate global citizenship via one or more of the following:
• Consistent efforts to be respectful and inclusive of other cultures and viewpoints.
• Contributions that improve the climate at the University of St. Thomas for other cultures and people.
• Connections made between the University of St. Thomas community and the world.
International Matrix members are excluded from receiving the award.
