Value-based leadership author James O'Toole to speak at School of Law March 12

James O’Toole, known internationally for writing and speaking about values-based leadership, will speak from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at the University of St. Thomas School of Law Schulze Grand Atrium in downtown Minneapolis.

O’Toole, who will discuss “Values-Based Leadership in the Professions,” is the author of 15 books, including Leading Change: The Argument for Values-Based Leadership, Leadership from A to Z, and Creating the Good Life.

A two-person panel will respond to O’Toole’s remarks and, together with O’Toole, will take questions from the audience. The panelists are Michael DeMane, chief operating officer of Medtronic, and Kim Nelson, vice president of General Mills and president of its Snacks Division.

The program is co-sponsored by two St. Thomas-based centers: the Holloran Center for Ethical Leadership in the Professions and the Center for Ethical Business Cultures. The presentation is part of the The Fredrikson and Byron Lecture in honor of John Byron.

The program is open to the public. Those planning to attend are asked to R.S.V.P. at www.stthomas.edu/ethicalleadership/rsvp. For more information, send an email to holloranctr@stthomas.edu or call Valerie Munson, (651) 962-4842.
