Center for
Writing helps students with the writing process
From the Center for Writing
The UST Center for Writing, located in Room 361,
John R. Roach Center for the Liberal Arts, is open for the semester.
Hours are:
- 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays
- 9 a.m. - noon Fridays
- 6-9 p.m. Sundays in the O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center
The Center for Writing provides important
assistance to your students as they write for your courses. Our peer
writing consultants provide free one-to-one individualized
conferences for students. Please tell your students that the Center
for Writing is for all writers at all levels of expertise and
experience.
Our staff of education, biology, English, business
and history majors (among others) provide insightful responses and
probing questions for students at any stage of the writing process.
The consultants help with understanding an assignment, researching a
topic, reading assigned texts, and identifying rhetorical issues
unique to different disciplines.
Ask students to access the
Center for
Writing Web site, where they can find our favorite links to
information on research, documenting sources and the writing
process. They can also “Ask a Consultant” and submit drafts in
process.
On our Web site, faculty also will find
information on how we work, how to encourage students to come to the
center, and how to incorporate the center into courses.
Call the center at (651) 962-5601 or, for more
information, contact Dr.
Susan Callaway, director, (651) 962-5602. |
