Are you graduating this May?
Would you like to carry your country's flag in the
commencement ceremony? International students graduating in May
will be able to carry their country's flag in the commencement
procession. If you would like to represent your country, please
contact OISS no later than Friday April 22nd 2005. Only one
person per country and ceremony will be allowed to carry their

St. Thomas to observe second annual
Heritage Week March 5-11 The University of St. Thomas
will observe its second annual Heritage Week Saturday, March 5,
through Friday, March 11.
The week will feature a series of events that celebrate the
university’s 120-year history. This year’s theme, “If These Walls
Could Talk: From Dreams to Reality,” focuses attention on the
university’s architecture, and the spirit of the people expressed
through that architecture.
This includes not only the campus buildings we use today, but plans
for structures that were never built … yet strongly influenced
today’s widely recognized “St. Thomas look.”
Heritage Week traditionally begins on the date of the annual St.
Thomas Day celebration. This year, however, one event will begin
several days before St. Thomas Day. A treasure hunt will start
Monday, March 28. The hunt will continue until Friday, March 11,
unless the treasure hunters unravel the clues and find the treasure
before that time. Put on your thinking cap and check below for more
details.
This annual week’s activities are coordinated by the Office for
Mission and grew out of a recommendation by a Community Events Task
Force to focus on several community-building events each year.
Unless noted below, all Heritage Week events are free and open to all
students, staff and faculty. For more information call the Office for
Mission, (651) 962-5200. Here is a listing of the events.
