Activate Your St. Thomas Account
Account Overview
New students must set up their email and user profile (or claim your account) in order to use the St. Thomas systems such as registration and payment. You should have received your student ID number and additional account information in the mail from Admissions after formal acceptance to St. Thomas.
You must do this in order to prepare for and register for Spring semester classes.

Your St. Thomas email account is the official method of communication for the University, so it's time to get familiar with using it.
This would be a good time to start checking your St. Thomas email regularly. If you have a smartphone and want to get your email setup on your device, read the instructions from Innovation & Technology Services (ITS) for adding email and other Microsoft Office programs to your smartphone, tablet or computer.
Update Parent/Guardian Emails
We hope to be able to communicate directly with parents or others supporting your transition to St. Thomas. When you sign up for your Orientation & Registration (O&R) session, you'll have a chance to provide emails for those folks.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) helps keep your information safe by verifying that people logging into the St. Thomas systems are indeed the people we think they are.

If you are only able to come after August 28th, we will have staff ready to welcome you on-campus but you will have to make your own transportation arrangements from the airport. We recommend services like Lyft, Uber, or using an Airport Taxi.

International Student Orientation
Fall 2023 international orientation activities run from August 28th to September3rd. Classes begin on Wednesday, September 4th.
Course Registration
The Academic Counseling department assists new undergraduate students with course registration. Prior to arrival, your academic advisor will pre-register you in a few courses based on your intended major.
During orientation, you will meet with your academic advisor to confirm your schedule.
Housing and Dining
Off-Campus Housing
Incoming transfer students who are living off campus are part of the Off-Campus Student Life community.
You’ll be enrolled in a commuter section of FYEX 100, paired with a Peer Mentor, and be connected with a number of resources.
Dining Meal Plan
First-year students living on campus all use the Unlimited Meal Plan beginning the evening of Monday, August 28th. This means you can eat what you want, when you want, as often as you want.
Please talk with us about your dietary restrictions.
Employment Opportunities
On-Campus employment is a great opportunity for students to get involved on campus, meet new people and learn new skills.
After arriving on campus and checking in with OISS, full-time F-1 and J-1 students can work on-campus for up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. During the summer and semester breaks, students may work up to 40 hours/week.
