Hello!
My name is Megan LaFontaine and I am very excited to begin my first year as a Graduate Assistant in The Office of International Student Services. Born in San Carlos, Chile, I came to the United States at a very young age when my parents adopted me. Due to my strong connection to Chile, learning about and appreciating different cultures has always been an important part of my life.
I attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (about an hour away from St. Paul) where I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Communication. While in college, I worked in many different student affairs offices including International Education. From my work experience, I realized supporting students is what I wanted to do for my career. As a current Leadership in Student Affairs graduate student, I am thrilled to work with students and support them throughout college.
Besides working with students, I enjoy discovering new places, events, and restaurants, staying active (biking, running, swimming, and dancing), and spending time with friends and family. Please contact me with your questions or to say hello; I look forward to meeting you and being part of the St. Thomas community.
