University Policy Advisory Committee
The University Policy Advisory Committee (UPAC) is a standing committee of the university that helps ensure a streamlined and coordinated institutional approach to policymaking and policy maintenance, by implementing the university’s policy management and approval process. The UPAC also provides advice to the president regarding compliance with the process for the establishment, revision and withdrawal of policies that are subject to the president’s approval.
The UPAC comprises the general counsel (who serves as UPAC chair); the chair of the Faculty Affairs Committee; one additional faculty member elected by the Committee on Faculty Nominations and Elections in accordance with the Faculty Handbook; the vice provost for academic affairs; the associate vice president for diversity and inclusion; the chief human resources officer or designee; and the vice president for student affairs or designee.
