Wonderlust Productions Partners with St. Thomas

Six Characters imageWonderlust Productions, an ensemble-based theater company, will be in residence on campus Oct. 17-Nov. 8. Wonderlust will partner with St. Thomas students to develop its production of “Six Characters in Search of Author meets Reality TV,” which will be performed at Park Square Theatre in April 2016. The production is an adaptation of Pirandello’s “Six Characters in Search of an Author” with the twist that it takes place in the studio of a reality TV show.

This is an opportunity for those who want to act, write, do camera work or film editing, or just want to watch, and will explore issues of identity and character, of what is real or true, and how the rise of unscripted shows and social media have influenced those.

Open rehearsals, featuring professional actors, of “Six Characters in Search of an Author meets Reality TV” will take place noon-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, and 4:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, in O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library, Room 108 (behind Coffee Bene).

Improv workshops, which will give students the chance to write and act, will take place 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, and Thursday, Oct. 29, also in O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library, Room 108.

Help create a reality TV show, “The Maze,” on Saturday, Nov. 7, and Sunday, Nov. 8. The TV show, created on St. Thomas' campus, will be played on TV monitors as part of “Six Characters in Search of an Author meets Reality TV.”
