More than 200 UST students, alumni, and friends of the university gathered for the inaugural UST Intersections speaker series November 10.  The event featured General Mills Chief Marketing Officer Mark Addicks and Opus College of Business Dean Christopher Puto.

306468_10150362380647821_97771237820_8722071_1269679813_nThe dialog between Mr. Addicks and Dr. Puto discussed the importance of both theory and practice in developing a successful marketing strategy.  Dean Puto offered an academic lens to the notable marketing perspective that Mr. Addicks shared from his experiences within General Mills.

Topics for the evening covered a broad scope of the marketing world, ranging from the power of brand to the shift in marketing stratiges with the ever evoloving world of social media.

The next Intersections speakers series event is slated for Thursday, February 9, 2012, 5 p.m., featuring UST Koch Distinguished Chair in Ethics Kenneth Goodpaster, Ph.D., and Best Buy Chief Ethics Officer Kathleen Edmond.
