Wellness Center Provides Smoking-cessation Resources for Great American Smokeout

The Wellness Center will be in the second-floor atrium of Murray-Herrick Campus Center from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 17, for the Great American Smokeout to provide smoking-cessation resources for those interested in quitting.

If you have considered quitting and need some extra support, stop by to grab a Quit Kit. Each kit contains nicotine gum with instructions on how to properly use the gum, mints and other resources to guide you through the process of quitting smoking.

Funding for the Quit Kits was provided by the Michael Larson Memorial Fund, which was established through a generous donation by the family of Michael Larson, a St. Thomas sophomore who died in a house fire in 2010.

The fund was established to promote fire prevention and smoking-cessation programs.
