Volunteers and donated meals needed for holiday dinner for the homeless

Volunteers In Action is putting on its annual holiday dinner for the homeless on Saturday, Dec. 10. Each year VIA brings guests from the Dorothy Day Center and Listening House in St. Paul for a dinner donated and served by students, staff, faculty and friends of St. Thomas.

VIA representatives will be outside of the cafeteria and Binz asking for meal donations from students throughout the week and into next week. This meal donation will take the place of a meal on the evening of Saturday, Dec. 10.

Anyone – faculty, staff, students or friends – also can donate their time to serve at the holiday dinner. The meal will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Volunteers are needed to set up, serve, eat, bus the guests, work in the kitchen and clean up. Sign up in the Center for Community Partnerships, Room 153, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. The sign-up sheet is at the front desk.
