Voice your opinions at Staff Council constituent meeting St. Thomas Newsroom October 19, 1999 The UST Staff Council will hold a constituent meeting from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, in Room 305, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center, teleconferenced to Room LL09, Minneapolis campus.The Staff Council is an elected group representing the nonexempt employees at St. Thomas. The council discusses and advises on job-related issues originated by the constituency.The Staff Council has members on many UST committees where they have worked to create change in many areas that affect nonexempt staff. Some of these areas are: benefit issues and concerns, health insurance, career tracking, use of flextime and personal leave, and providing child care on campus.Community involvement has included annual holiday giving and service to charitable organizations such as Loaves and Fishes, women’s shelters and area churches. In addition, the council plans and hosts the annual Staff Appreciation Breakfast, which is scheduled for April 11, 2000.The council is an advisory group that reports to Dr. Judith Dwyer, executive vice president, and works closely with Colleen Striegel, director of human resources.Bring your lunch to the meeting.
