UST selecting new course-management system St. Thomas Newsroom October 29, 2001 Faculty and staff: Here is a reminder that St. Thomas is selecting a new course-management system. A call for participation appeared in the Oct. 10 Bulletin Today and in several e-mails sent to all faculty. On Oct. 17, 23 and 25, representatives from Blackboard, WebCT and Prometheus were on campus for presentations and hands-on sessions; feedback has been gathered from those sessions. An essential aspect of product review includes faculty evaluation. The selection committee, made up of faculty, students and support staff, will review all feedback from faculty, students and faculty experts. Your continued input and contributions are encouraged.Open lab sessions will be held at the Centers for Multimedia Development on both Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses. Course sites from the three CMS systems will be available for faculty to evaluate, try and discuss with support staff in the centers. The next sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Tuesday, Oct. 29 and 30, in the Centers for Multimedia Development, located in the lower level of Terrence Murphy Hall on the Minneapolis campus, and Room 8B of the lower level of O’Shaughnessy Educational Center on the St. Paul campus.Online product evaluations are available for those who cannot attend the open lab sessions in person.
