  • "Good Question: Why's It Hard To Admit Being Wrong?" WCCO-TV, Jan. 12, 2007. "'It's incredibly difficult,' said Dr. John Tauer, who teaches psychology at the University of St. Thomas. That's because two basic human needs are the need to feel good about ourselves and the need to be right and accurate about our perceptions of the world. This helps create our sense of self. 'When those two needs do come in conflict, more often than not we end up protecting our feelings about ourselves,' said Tauer. 'Even if that means sacrificing our accuracy.'" https://wcco.com/goodquestion/local_story_011193646.html
