UST celebrates National Library Week April 15-19 St. Thomas Newsroom April 8, 2002 UST celebrates National Library Week April 15-19 National Library Week will be celebrated April 14-20. Here are some events that will be held at the O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center: Library Week book sales, Monday-Friday All members of the UST community are invited to stop by the O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Week book sale, held from noon to 6 p.m. each day in Room 102. Here you’ll find a variety of books at amazingly low prices — history books, cookbooks, classics, self-help, art, travel, mystery and more. The sale is open to the public beginning on Tuesday, April 16. The John Ireland Memorial Library will have a used book sale for the UST community during building hours beginning at 8 a.m. Monday-Friday, April 15-19. The sale opens to the public on Tuesday, April 16. Prices at the Ireland Library book sale: hardcover books, $1; paperbacks, 50 cents; and on Friday the books will go for $2 a bag. In addition, there will be a silent auction through the week for a few reference and theological titles, ending at noon on Friday, April 19. Daily trivia contest during Library Week, Monday-FridayA prize will be awarded each day for the winning answer drawn from all correct responses received by the daily deadline. Theme baskets to be raffled, Monday-FridayWatch for a new Library Week feature this year — receive raffle chances on a theme basket(s) of your choice in exchange for your donation of food shelf or basic toiletry item. All donated items will be given to a local food shelf or homeless shelter and your name will be put into the drawing for one of the fantastic theme baskets; stop by the library to see what you can win. Music in the Library, Tuesday, April 16Come to the library at noon in the O’Shaughnessy Room and spend your lunch hour with the UST Guitar Ensemble. Watch for details about this talented and versatile group of musicians; you’re welcome to bring your lunch. Movie Night at the library, Wednesday, April 17Find a comfortable chair in the O’Shaughnessy Room in time for the 7 p.m. showing of a great movie. Meet and hear Kent Krueger at noon Thursday, April 18 William Kent KruegerYou will be treated to a great hour with William Kent Krueger, author of the award-winning mystery novels: Boundary Waters, Iron Lake, and Purgatory Ridge.
