USG and HANA team up on Giving Tree project

The Undergraduate Student Government and HANA are teaming up this holiday season to sponsor a Giving Tree that will make Christmas brighter for 15 individuals.

The decorated Giving Tree is located in the first-floor lounge of Murray-Herrick Campus Center. Also on the tree are 15 tags that contain information about the individuals, including their names, ages and favorite colors. The tags also include their “wish list” and their “need list.”

Groups of students, or co-workers, are invited to select one of the tags and go shopping for that individual. It is suggested that the shopping budget for each individual is around $50.

The unwrapped gifts can be dropped off at the Giving Tree Box at the Campus Life office, Room 110, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. The deadline to deliver gifts is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11.

Please keep the presents together and write the individual’s name on each gift, so the elves will know which person is supposed to get which gift.

‘The individuals understand that they will not receive every item on their list,” one of the elves said. “They will appreciate anything they might receive.”
