Undergrads: Officially withdraw from any fall class you’ve registered for but will not attend

From the Office of the University Registrar

University policy states that undergraduate students who do not attend the first day of class may be dropped from the class roster at the discretion of the instructor; however, students should not assume that the instructor will drop them from a course if they fail to attend the first day.

University policy also requires undergraduate students who are registered for classes to pay their fees and receive grades for them.

It is the students’ responsibility to ensure that they are officially withdrawn from any course in which they are registered but do not attend.

If you have questions, call the Office of the Registrar, (651) 962-6700.

Reminders:

  • First-semester, undergraduate freshmen must have the signature of their adviser on the Change in Registration form before the Office of the Registrar can process it.
  • Students on a wait list are not officially enrolled; you must get the signature of the instructor on a Change in Registration form (click here for form) and then return the form to the Office of the Registrar in Room 106, Aquinas Hall, to become officially enrolled.

Registration sites and times:

Undergraduate students may add courses through Tuesday, Sept. 9, and drop courses through Tuesday, Sept. 16, by one of the following two methods:

  • Visit the Registrar’s Office from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Room 106, Aquinas Hall. Note: For undergraduate students, the last day to drop a course without a notation of “W” on the academic record is Tuesday, Sept. 16.
