TPT to rebroadcast two St. Thomas programs

Twin Cities Public Television will rebroadcast on its statewide Minnesota Channel a Dec. 2, 2008, forum held at the University of St. Thomas about the controversial Israeli-Palestinian situation and attempts to encourage mutual understanding and peace-making.

"Interfaith Bridges to Holy Land Peace" will be rebroadcast four times over the next few months on tptMN:

  • 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 5
  • 1:30 a.m. Monday, April 6
  • 8 p.m. Monday, May 11
  • 2 a.m. Tuesday, May 12

The forum was sponsored by the UST President's Office, the College of Arts and Sciences' Muslim-Christian Dialogue Center and by the Jay Phillips Center for Jewish-Christian Learning, a partnership of St. Thomas and St. John's University in Collegeville.

"Robert Pastor's Views on NAFTA," a TPT rebroadcast of last year's Donald B. Regan Distinguished Lecture at St. Thomas, will be shown on tptMN at 10 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, and 4 a.m. Wednesday, April 8.

Pastor, director of the Center for North American Studies at American University in Washington, D.C., advocated much closer partnerships between the United States and its nearest neighbors, Canada and Mexico – perhaps even unification.
