The city of Wadena, where a tornado did extensive damage and leveled a St. Thomas student’s family home on June 17,  invited volunteers to help with the cleanup June 22-26 and was planning to reassess volunteer needs on Monday, June 28.

The Ottertail County website has information for people interested in volunteering for the cleanup effort.

A tornado relief fund also has been established for donations, which can be made online.

UST sophomore Justin Tucker and his family lost their home in the storm.

Dr. Angela Broeker of the St. Thomas Music Department said that Justin’s father was the only one home when the tornado struck, and he was pinned under the debris but survived relatively unscathed.
