Three Students Receive Summer Research Awards

Three University of St. Thomas students have been awarded summer research stipends in conjunction with the Jean Dreyfus Boissevain Lectureship for Undergraduate Institutions. (See Bulletin Today, Dec. 2, 2011.)

In addition to funding a prominent speaker to visit the University of St. Thomas, the grant provides the opportunity for several students to conduct undergraduate research with a faculty mentor. Each student who receives the Summer Research Award will receive a $4,500 stipend and $500 to travel to a professional conference.

Juniors Thomas Gentle, Samuel Jensen and Amber Schoenecker will work in the labs of Dr. Tom Ippoliti, Dr. Kris Wammer and Dr. Lisa Prevette this summer.

More information on the grant and the research awards can be found on the Chemistry Department website. (See also Jean Dreyfus Boissevain Lectureship.)
