Great music, open mike at coffee house Oct. 22

Don your favorite Halloween costume and visit Common Ground for a coffee house at 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22.

There’ll be free food, great music and an open mike for singers, jokers and dramatists. Want to perform? Call Mara, 696-9305.

Trailer Trash provides the music for Halloween dance Oct. 26

Scooter’s is having a Halloween party on Tuesday, Oct. 26. Swing dance lessons at 8 p.m. will precede a Halloween dance at 8:30 p.m. The band, Trailer Trash, will play from 9 to 11 p.m.

Plenty of free candy will be available and no costumes are necessary.

Halloween costume contest and movie thriller, “Poltergeist,” Oct. 27

The STAR (St. Thomas Activities and Recreation) Films Committee will show the movie “Poltergeist” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, in O’Shaughnessy Educational Center auditorium.

Come to the movie dressed in a Halloween costume and you may win a cash prize of $200, $125 or $75 for first, second or third place. A panel of judges will choose the top three costumes. The movie is free and anyone interested can participate.
