Faculty and staff contributed $29,647.20 in gifts and pledges to the annual fund during the 2000 Faculty-Staff Annual Campaign, which ran from mid-March through April, making it one of most successful efforts to date. More than 116 faculty and staff members participated in the monthlong campaign. The average gift during this year’s campaign was $255.54, compared with $98.53 last year. (The 1999 campaign raised $20,496.26 from 208 donors.)
"Faculty and staff support is particularly encouraging," said Jim Daniel, vice president for development, "because we best understand the quality of the work here at the university. If we are willing to endorse St. Thomas with our philanthropic dollars, our confidence will be contagious. Congratulations to all on a successful campaign."
Overall faculty and staff giving during 1999-2000 has resulted in $100,414.34 in cash and pledges from 312 donors. These funds support the greatest needs of the university, such as student scholarships, operating funds for the Child Development Center, upgrading computer hardware and software and other priorities.
Faculty and staff are still welcome to participate in the annual campaign. Please call John Bannigan, (651) 962-6982, with questions or to make a pledge.
