My deep and sincere gratitude to the St. Thomas community for the overwhelming outpouring of cards, sympathy and prayers for me and my family, and on behalf of my sister, Shirley Robertson, who recently passed away. It is truly a gift to work where people care about one another.
Special thanks to Monsignor Lavin, who represented “The St. Thomas Family” at Shirley’s Funeral Mass and burial, and also to Chris Baxter and Earline McCauley of the Facilities Scheduling Office. They insisted that it was OK that I be away that whole week, at a particularly busy and challenging time in our office.
While our families were still mourning Shirley’s death, we received word that Shirley’s husband, Billy (William C. Robertson), passed away on Sunday evening, Aug. 20, just two days after Shirley’s funeral. Billy had been struggling with Parkinson’s disease for a number of years, and was in a nursing home in Florida. A memorial service for Billy will be held in Eagan, Minn., on Monday, Sept. 11. Please keep Billy and his family in your prayers as well.
Thanks again for all of your love, prayers and support.
