Tessie Thompson is second team soccer All-American St. Thomas Newsroom December 19, 2001 By Gene McGivern Sports Information DirectorSt. Thomas midfielder Tessie Thompson has earned second-team All-America honors in women’s soccer on teams sponsored by NSCAA-Adidas. Eleven players were honored on each of the three elite honor teams.A two-time first-team All-MIAC honoree, Thompson led the Tommies to an MIAC co-championship, an NCAA playoff berth and a 16-3-1 record. She had 10 goals and six assists for 26 points and has 51 career points in three seasons. She’s just the second Tommie women’s soccer All-American in the last 14 seasons.The only other MIAC player honored was Macalester sophomore goalie Lisa Bauer of Woodbury, who was named to the third team.Click here to see the NCAA Division III Women All-America Teams list.
