As this is a major upgrade, the outage is scheduled to last until noon Sunday, Aug. 7. During the upgrade, faculty, staff and students will not be able to log in or access Blackboard.Wireless network and residence hall networks offline for Clean Access upgrade Aug. 7On Sunday, Aug. 7, IRT will upgrade the Clean Access network protection hardware and software. Clean Access authenticates users on the UST network.Clean Access network protection helps keep the university’s network safe by limiting access to systems that are necessary for the user logged into the computer. Guest access only provides access to the Internet; student access allows connections to My Storage and enterprise systems such as Blackboard, Murphy Online and printing resources. Staff/Faculty provides access to the above as well as department storage and other internal resources.Starting at 6 a.m. Sunday, the old hardware will be taken offline and the new hardware will be brought online. Access should be restored by noon Sunday. How will this impact me?During the outage, there will be no access to the wireless network on campus or the residence hall networks on campus. When the upgrade is complete, all users will have to log back into the Clean Access system.Users will still need to log into Clean Access whenever they move to new buildings on campus as the Clean Access connection does not carry across buildings. As always, IRT appreciates your feedback.
