Susan Price, Steve Trost to speak on 'Gardening: Just for the Health of It!'

Susan Price and Steve Trost will present "Gardening: Just for the Health of It!" and answer your gardening questions at noon Wednesday, May 13, in the O'Shaughnessy Room, Room 108, of the O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center. Bring your lunch, if you wish; beverages and a light dessert will be provided.

Price, a UST reference librarian and author, has lived and gardened in Minnesota for more than 20 years. A graduate of Louisiana State University, she holds master's degrees from the University of Minnesota and Hamline University. Price's three books, Minnesota Gardens: An Illustrated History, Growing Home: Stories of Ethnic Gardening and Northern Treasure: The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum and Horticultural Research Center, are in the O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center collection.

Trost, the UST greenhouse manager since 1980, earned his horticulture degree from Century College in 1974 and worked at Bachman's and some smaller greenhouses before coming to St. Thomas. Dave Nimmer wrote about Trost in The Scroll in February.
