Study Abroad: It’s time for faculty to plan their January-Term and summer-term study abroad courses St. Thomas Newsroom August 14, 2000 Although it is summer, there has been much preparation for short-term study-abroad programs, including January-Term and summer-term abroad courses. Revised deadlines Take note of revised deadlines for submitting St. Thomas short-term study abroad courses: Dec. 1 — for all January-Term abroad proposals for the following year. May 1 — for all summer-abroad proposals for the following year. However, because this revision occurred after May 1, the deadline for summer 2001 will be Sept. 15, 2000. Call for UMAIE proposals for January 2002 All undergraduate faculty are encouraged to consider proposing a UMAIE course. International Education currently is accepting UMAIE course proposals; the course submission deadline for January 2002 remains Oct. 1, 2000. Representative from UMAIE to visit campus Aug. 16 Mavis Erdmann, associate director, Seminars International, will be on campus Wednesday, Aug. 16. If you are interested in proposing a UMAIE course and would like to meet with Erdmann, contact Sarah Spencer at (651) 962-6452 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. Faculty interested in proposing a St. Thomas January-Term or summer-term abroad course or a UMAIE course also should contact Spencer.
