Are you ready to take a stance against hunger and poverty in your community? Are you of sophomore or junior status? If so, consider applying for the Oxfam CHANGE Initiative. Every year, 50 undergraduate students are selected to be a part of a national social justice training that builds students’ leadership and advocacy skills.
Students are introduced to models for social change and then bring their knowledge back to campus. They work on social justice issues by starting an Oxfam Club on campus or by leading campus campaigns.
As CHANGE Leaders, students will:
- Create social change locally and globally
- Establish connections and share knowledge with college students from the U.S. and beyond
- Have access to expert skills-based training and resources
- Campaign with Oxfam with a focus on human rights
If selected, students will participate in a year-long program and will attend a week-long training in Boston the last full week of July. Students who are interested in learning more about CHANGE should review their website . Each applicant should be of sophomore or junior status and will need to find a staff or faculty member who can provide an online recommendation and support on campus. CHANGE Leader applications and contact recommendation are due April 1. Students will be notified about acceptance into the program by May 1.
