The SPJ is an organization open to all journalism and communication majors interested in making contacts and learning more about the journalism profession. The UST chapter is a highly active affiliate of the national organization. During the year, SPJ members put on panel discussions with local journalists relating to issues and trends in journalism, visit local newsrooms (such as the Star Tribune or KSTP-TV), and do service projects in the community. Members also have worked for the Associated Press on election nights and have attended regional and national conventions to meet and discuss issues with journalists from all over the country. For more information, e-mail SPJ or visit the SPJ Web page. Student Coalition for Social Justice The Student Coalition for Social Justice invites you to its meeting at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, in Koch Commons.
