STAR events this week include talent show, swing and salsa dance lessons and men's hockey game

Thursday and Friday
Sign up for the Tommie Dazzle talent showthat will be held from 8 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, in Scooter's. Any kind of talent is welcome, with a chance of winning cash prizes. Sign up in the Box Office, lower level, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.

Thursday
Sign up at the Box Office for a free trip to the Tapestry Folk Dance Center Thursday, Nov. 3, to learn how to swing dance. A bus will leave from the arches at 6:30 p.m. and return at 9:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Friday
Fanamaniac event! UST men's hockey home opener is Nov. 4. Come and support the St. Thomas men's hockey team. Game begins at 7 p.m. at the Saint Thomas Arena in Mendota Heights (near St. Thomas Academy). A free bus will shuttle from Parking Lot H starting at 6:30 pm. The last bus will leave the arena at 9:30 p.m. Free Fanamaniac T-shirts and free admission to the game are available to the first 50 students with UST ID, but not to guests (although guests are allowed on the bus).

Saturday
Tommie Dazzle Talent Show and Tommies After Dark Fiesta Night
STAR and Scooter's are hosting the Tommie Dazzle Talent Show from 8 to 10 p.m. in Scooter's. You'll see lots of UST talent -- from comedy to dancing. Monetary prizes will be awarded:

  • First place: $100
  • Second place: $75
  • Third place: $50

To perform, sign up at the Box Office by Nov. 4.

After Tommie Dazzle, come to Koch Commons for a Tommies After Dark special event at 10 p.m. Free salsa dance lessons, Mexican food and the movie "Dirty Dancing." Activities will end at 2 a.m.
