Stage fright? Find out how to manage it in Thursday convocation
Dr. Vanessa Cornett, director of keyboard studies in the St. Thomas Music Department, will host a convocation, "Understanding Stage Fright," from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, in Room 30A (choir room), Brady Educational Center.
Although the workshop is geared toward musicians and other performing artists, the information also will be valuable for any student who experiences significant anxiety when giving presentations, speaking in public or taking tests.
Topics include the causes and effects of stage fright on body and mind, an examination of the body's conditioned stress response, and several effective ways to manage and control performance anxiety.
