Spammers hit UST Mailboxes

Spam getting you down? Getting messages indicating you have updates to perform on your social networking accounts?

UST mailboxes have been seeing a lot of spam recently. Spammers know it's the end of the semester and they take advantage of that because they know recipients may not pay as close attention to their email as they normally would and may click on links. Clicking on links alerts spammers that their tactics are working. They perpetually change their strategy and make blocking their junk email difficult.

You can help alleviate the spam by following these simple instructions.

  1. Don’t click on any links or open unknown email.
  2. Don’t give out personal information by clicking on links or replying with usernames and passwords.
  3. Use the following “safe measures” for your particular computer:
