Gessner Memorial Scholarships in Sociology will be awarded this year. Sociology and criminal justice majors and minors are invited to apply for the $1,000 scholarships. Dr. John Gessner was a popular member of the Sociology Department from 1985 to 1991. He died in 1991 while he was serving as chair of the department. After his death, his family established a scholarship in his memory. Applications are available on the sociology bulletin board across from Room 438, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center. Applications should be submitted to Dr. Susan Smith-Cunnien in Room 443, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center, by 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 6. No late applications will be accepted.
