So you think you can dance? Join the UST Dance Club. Tryouts start tomorrow:
- 7:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, in the AARC Dance Studios – learn and review the tryout routine
- 7:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at the AARC Dance Studios – official tryout date
Dancers will perform a 30-second routine for three to four judges and will be placed on one of three teams: purple, white or silver.
Students joining second semester will learn two routines with their teams, one jazz or hip-hop, and one lyrical or modern. They will perform these routines in the spring show at 6 p.m. Friday, April 15.
Practices are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the AARC dance studios. The routines will be learned during Saturday practices on Feb. 19 and 26; the remaining practices will be used to clean and perfect the routines before the show.
"Dance Club is a great place for those passionate or curious about the art of dance to be able to showcase their talent and meet new friends," remarked Andrea Gussel, the club's marketing and social director.
