Sign up for St. Jude's kids at Up 'til Dawn info session today
Do you want to know how you can help the kids of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital win their battles with cancer? If so, come to the Up 'til Dawn information session at 7 p.m. today, Monday, Oct. 13, in the Koch Commons Fireside Room. Food will be provided.
"No child should die in the dawn of life," said the late entertainer, Danny Thomas, founder of the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in 1962 in Memphis, Tenn.
The St. Thomas chapter of UTD hosts an annual campuswide Up 'til Dawn fundraiser dedicated to raising money for the hospital. At the end of the program, students stay "Up 'til Dawn" to celebrate UST participation and achievement and to honor the patients of St. Jude.
St. Thomas was named 2007-08 Up 'til Dawn Program of the Year. (See the Bulletin Today article published July 28, 2008.) This student-led, student-run fundraiser is hosted by more than 180 campuses nationwide."
St. Jude treats children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases at no cost to their families. St. Jude shares all of its research freely worldwide and has made dramatic strides toward finding a cure.
Up 'til Dawn is a simple way to fulfill service hours with minimal time commitment. While participation is its own reward, participants also can win great prizes.
