Roxane Gay
Roxane Gay will now serve as the 2016 Women's History Month speaker, replacing Nina Totenberg. Due to recent events in the Supreme Court and the developing situations at the Capitol, Totenberg had to cancel her March 3 lecture at St. Thomas.
Gay will speak on "Feminism and Popular Culture in the Digital Age” on Wednesday, April 6, at 5:30 p.m., in James B. Woulfe Alumni Hall in the Anderson Student Center.
Gay is a writer, blogger and associate professor of English at Purdue University. Her writing has appeared in publications such as The New York Times and Los Angeles Times. She is also the author of several books, including An Untamed State and Bad Feminist.
The event, free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Luann Dummer Center for Women. Check the center's website for continuing updates on the lecture.
