Relay for Life Raises $28,000 for American Cancer Society

Thirty-three teams of students raised $28,000 for the American Cancer Society by participating in a Relay for Life held last weekend at St. Catherine University. St. Thomas’ Sigma Chi Fraternity raised $1,915 during the event.

Members of the 33 teams took turns walking around the St. Kate's track in remembrance of loved ones who have battled or are battling cancer.

The event kicked off with a “Survivors Lap” in which all survivors of cancer are invited to walk the circle together and help everyone celebrate their success in fighting cancer.

“The Iota Tau Chapter of Sigma Chi would like to thank all of those who donated to the cause,” said Nick Snidarich, a member of Sigma Chi.
