Dr. Janet Grochowski, Health and Human Performance Department, and Dr. Meg Wilkes Karraker, Sociology Department, gave a presentation, "'Telling Tales': Rituals and Storytelling as Methods to Bridge Contact Zones," at the annual conference on Qualitative Research in Education in Athens, Ga.
Dr. Mitchell Kusy, Organization Learning and Developmetn Department, just returned from Kiev, Ukraine, where he delivered a series of MBA seminars. Focused on the top competencies that international leaders must adapt to be successful, the seminars were designed for graduate students who are working professionals.
Dr. Sally Power and Dr. Teresa Rothausen, Management Department, are the authors of an article, "The Work-Oriented Midcareer Development Model: an Extension of Super's Maintenance Stage," published in The Counseling Psychologist. It was designated a significant contribution to the field by the journal, and reaction papers by Dr. Consuelo Arbona, Dr. Nancy Betz and Dr. Jane Swanson accompanied the article in this issue.
Rothausen, who also is interim director of the UST MBA program, also presented a manuscript, "Family Diversity," at the annual meeting of the academic conference on work and family, sponsored by the Business and Professional Women's Foundation and the Community, Families and Work Program at Brandeis University, Feb. 28-March 1 in Orlando, Fla.
Dr. Cris Toffolo, Justice and Peace Studies Program and Political Science Department, is the editor of a new book, Emancipating Cultural Pluralism, published by the State University of New York Press. The volume is part of SUNY Press' National Identities series. Read more here.
