Prayer Service
An interfaith prayer service for the earthquake victims in Haiti will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, in the Florance Chapel (lower level of the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas) on the St. Paul campus of the University of St. Thomas.
All are invited to join in prayer and remember those who have died or are suffering because of the disaster.
Members of the St. Thomas community who would like to make a financial contribution for Haiti can drop it off at the Campus Ministry office, Room 105, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. The donations will be sent to Catholic Relief Services for its work in Haiti. A collection also will be taken at the Thursday prayer service.

Students in Cayman Islands
Dr. Thomas Hamilton, who is leading 14 undergraduate St. Thomas students on a January Term study-abroad course on Grand Cayman Island, called the university Tuesday morning to report that all members of the group were fine shortly after an earthquake was felt on the island.
The earthquake that struck near the Cayman Islands measured 5.8 on the Richter scale. Initial reports did not indicate property damage or injuries, but did say the government issued an "all clear" to re-enter schools and other buildings after safety checks were complete.
The Cayman Islands are about 150 miles south of Cuba and 600 miles west of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, the site of last week's devastating earthquake. Since then, quakes of 5.0 or more also have been reported in Venezuela, Guatemala and Argentina.
Hamilton is a member of the Opus College of Business' Finance Department. He was leading a January Term course on "Real Estate Market Analysis and Development Planning."
