The St. Thomas International Education Center invites students to submit entries for its annual photo contest.

Prizes are $50 for first place and $25 for second, and they may be reproduced in a university publication.

Your photos should illustrate the theme, “An Intercultural Experience,” about people, the meeting and mixing of your culture and the one you are visiting, or “A Sense of Place,” about places and scenery, capturing the unique atmosphere of a country in which you were a guest. Entries may originate from any country but must have been taken by a UST student in conjunction with a St. Thomas study-, work- or volunteer-abroad program.

You may enter as many photos as you wish. Both color and black-and-white entries are welcome. Slides also are eligible; however, please do not send original slides.

Each entry becomes St. Thomas property; submission of an entry acknowledges the right of the university to use it for exhibition and/or publication.

The reverse side of each photograph should be labeled with the photographer’s name. Writing directly on the photo can damage it, so please write your name on an adhesive material attached to the back of the photo. Send unmounted entries in flat packages, protected with reinforced material, by Sept. 30 to the International Education Center, Mail # 44C-1, Attention: Ann Hubbard.
