An open forum on "What Happened? What next? UST Community Considers the Nation’s Response to Terrorism" will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, in O’Shaughnessy Educational Center auditorium.

Several faculty members will speak, giving substantive analysis or commentary on last week’s events and/or evaluations of possible appropriate responses.  The forum will include a question-and-answer session.

Presenters and their topics are:

  • Dr. Michael O’Connor, UST School of Law, on "Terrorism and the Law"
  • Dr. Dennis Ray, 3M Chair of Global Strategy and Management, on "The New War on Terrorism"
  • Dr. Cheri Shakiban, Mathematics Department, on "Non-Christian, Middle-Eastern Point of View"
  • Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer, Justice and Peace Studies, on "Honor the Victims, Work for Peace"
  • Dr. Kenneth Kemp, Philosophy Department, on "Reflections on the Attack of Sept. 11
  • Dr. Robert Farlow, Political Science Department, on "Terrorism and the Return of the Imperial Presidency"
