Nominations invited for William B. Malevich and Distinguished Educator awards

The Undergraduate Student Government invites nominations for the annual Distinguished Educator and William B. Malevich awards.

Do you know a faculty, staff or administrative member of the UST community who deserves recognition for all that he or she does? Then nominate him or her for one of these annual awards. The USG has sponsored these awards for the past 19 years and continues the tradition this spring.

The 2007-2008 William B. Malevich Award will be presented by the students to a staff or administration member who best demonstrates unrelenting support, encouragement and direction to the students of the University of St. Thomas.

The 2007-2008 Distinguished Educator Award will be presented by the students to a faculty member who best demonstrates willingness to mentor, inspire and encourage students in their academic, professional and personal goals.

Nomination packets will be available outside the USG office, Room 111, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. To nominate someone for these awards, you must submit an essay describing why and how your nominee fulfills the qualifications for one of these awards. The essay should be no longer than 250 words. In addition to the essay, you must include the signatures of 25 students who support your nomination.

The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, March 26. All nominations must be submitted to the USG office, Attn: Katie Berry, Mail #5060.

A committee of undergraduates will select the winners for both the William B. Malevich Award and the Distinguished Educator Award. Awards will be presented at the Spirit of St. Thomas Banquet on Thursday, April 17.
