In the News: Holiday Shopping Survey Team Shares 2015 Outlook

The outlook for holiday shopping in the Twin Cities remains bright for 2015, according to the University of St. Thomas' annual Holiday Spending Survey. The survey, a collaboration between professors David Brennan, Ph.D., Lorman Lundsten, Ph.D., Sandra Rathod, Ph.D., and Jonathan Seltzer, M.B.A., drew attention for what it reveals about the Twin Cities’ economy and the current consumer mood.

Following the survey’s release, the researchers made several media appearances to share their findings, which included the average amount households plan to spend, top gift categories and where people will shop. David Brennan appeared on KARE-11 and Lorman Lundsten was interviewed on both WCCO-TV and FOX-9. Survey results were also featured in Twin Cities Business and Minneapolis Downtown Journal.

A summary of this year’s results, and a detailed analysis of Internet shopping, will be the topic at the upcoming Power Lunch: 2015 Holiday Spending Survey on December 10.
