This is an open letter of thanks to the person who found my wedding ring at the St. Thomas Minneapolis campus in November and turned it in to the office there.
I’d had the ring for 16 years. First, it was a friendship ring, then an engagement ring and finally, my wedding ring (my husband and I celebrated our 12th anniversary in October). It’s not a very expensive ring, and at the time we married, we couldn’t afford a new one. I said I didn’t want one anyway, that this ring was so special to me I couldn’t imagine replacing it. Now, after 12-plus years of marriage, the ring has become a treasured symbol of the love and memories my husband and I share.
My sincere gratitude to you for having the honesty and the kindness to return it.
