From MinnPost:

With its diverse economy, Minnesota fared better than the nation as a whole throughout much of 2009. At year’s end, its unemployment rate was 7.4 percent, the 13th lowest in the nation, according to new data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

More statistics show that in Hennepin County unemployment was closer to 6% on average last month. This is certainly good news for our local and state business climate.”The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis predicted that agriculture will aid recovery…along with gains in manufacturing, a modest improvement in consumer spending and improved conditions in the residential real-estate market.”

The diversity of the state economy here in Minnesota brings wide range of students to UST. This benefits all of our students with such a variety of professional experiences and viewpoints coming into classroom discussion and group projects.  I can only imagine that more and more people will find ways innovate and business school will be a good way for them to gain the solid foundation to succeed as the economy evolves.
