Minneapolis Data Center Electrical Work Will Result in Service Outages July 21

From 9 p.m. to midnight on Thursday, July 21, the Minneapolis Data Center will be powered down while new equipment is installed.

As part of summer equipment improvements, IRT is adding a new battery back-up system to networking equipment in Minneapolis. The battery back-up will supplement the existing generator in case of power loss in Minneapolis. This implementation will result in a complete shutdown of the Minneapolis Data Center, located in the basement of the Law School.

The power outage will include the emergency lighting systems in Schulze Hall and the School of Law building.

The following services will be impacted:

Minneapolis-specific:

  • Email
  • Network/Internet Access
  • Deptstore 2
  • Law School phones
  • Printing

Cross-campus:

  • Sharepoint
  • Banner Test
  • Deptstore2
  • Courseweb
  • E-Procurement (Production and Test)
