Due to gas prices during the first half of 2011, the IRS has issued a midyear mileage rate update.
Beginning July 1, 2011, the standard mileage rate for business use of personal vehicles will increase from 51 cents per mile to 55.5 cents per mile.
Employee mileage reimbursements for business use will be calculated at the increased rate for travel on and after July 1.
