Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, in the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas on the university's St. Paul campus. A memorial service will follow from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the chapel.

Larson, who was asleep on the couch at the time the fire broke out, is heralded a hero by the home’s other occupants. According to one of his roommates, Larson woke everyone in the house by shouting loudly about the fire, which allowed three people to escape to safety.

Larson was a communication and journalism major who had aspirations of becoming a sports reporter. According to family members, he was a devoted fan of Minnesota sports – with the Twins being his favorite team.

A candle and photo of Larson is on display on a side altar in the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas. The altar is on the right side as you enter through the main doors.

A Facebook group titled “R.I.P Michael Adam Larson (Carson)” has been set up in his honor and contains dozens of photos and comments from family and friends.

The bells will toll at noon on Friday, Dec. 17, on St. Thomas’ St. Paul campus to honor his memory.

Members of the St. Thomas community who would like support or assistance in dealing with Larson’s death are welcome to contact Campus Ministry, (651) 962-6560, or Personal Counseling, (651) 962-6780.
