Mathematics Resource Center Opens Tomorrow; Also Hosts Physics, Chemistry Tutors

The Mathematics Resource Center, which provides free, drop-in tutoring for students enrolled in St. Thomas math classes numbered 100 through 200, will open its doors for the fall semester on Thursday, Sept. 8. New to the MaRC this year will be the presence of tutors from the Physics and Chemistry departments.

The MaRC, conveniently located near most math and science classrooms in Room 235, O'Shaughnessy Science Hall, has been a popular place throughout the years for students to get help with mathematics, to work on their homework, and to meet with classmates. Tutors are St. Thomas students who are majoring in mathematics or related disciplines.

The MaRC’s hours of operations this fall are:

  • Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
  • Friday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.,
  • Sunday, 4-9 p.m.

Chemistry tutors will be available:

  • Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, 6-9 p.m.

Physics tutors will be available:

  • Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, 4-6 p.m.
