Master’s Connection: Jeanne Bailey ’90 to speak on ‘The Phenomenon of Re-Careering’ Dec. 14

Jeanne Bailey, ’90 M.A., will present “You Can Take It With You: The Phenomenon of Re-Careering,” at the Master’s Connection networking breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, in Room 252, Terrence Murphy Hall.

Experts say the average number of career shifts in a person’s work life now average about seven. Because the world of work keeps changing and shifting, opportunities abound that allow an individual to take skills, competencies and interests and apply them in a new or related field.

Instead of waiting for “the other shoe to drop,” you can be proactive in managing upcoming change.  Bailey will provide a model to help you identify those skills, competencies and interests that are portable and suggests ways you can engage in a “re-careering” mind-set. The challenge is to translate your skills into potential for new work in new settings while maintaining a stretched, but familiar, comfort zone. Please bring your résumé to this interactive session and plan to stay for the networking.

The cost is $5 in advance and $10 at the door. Advance registration is requested.
